I am a cleaning genius. We have mostly tile floors in our house so I have one of those sponge mops with the scrubby bristles on one side (which, by the way, never seem to actually scrub my tile clean). But no matter, I have found a use for them after all. My rugs are typically covered in hair. I don’t really know why, probably a combination factors including but not limited to the following: my vacuum sucks (or doesn’t as the case may be) and I have long blonde hair that apparently falls out more than normal. In a stroke of what can only be described as cleaing genius, I flipped that sponge mop over, and took to the rug with the useless scrubby side, and was amazed (but not shocked, I am pretty smart) at how it picked up all the hair in my rug. Just drag it along the carpet and there you go, hair gone, clean rug. As my son would say, Ta Da!
Agaist my better judgement, I joined a gym. Uhh, I know. But I really needed an excuse to get out of the house and a reason to spend some time on myself. I’ve been a few times now and am enjoying it. I plan to stick with it and eventually take the kids with me to the childcare so I don’t have to go late at night.
I have the world’s messiest floors. With 2 small kids that drop ffood all over, I can’t keep the floors clean. And I hate mopping. I usually end up on my hands and knees with a putty knife scraping the sticky stuck on food off the floor. I’ve seen commercials for those steam mops. Do they work? I have a shark but it is so loud I never use it. Anyone have any ideas?
Anyone have a good vacuum? My vacuum never picks up everything . I haven’t had it for too long, so it should do better than it does. I tried changing the filters and cleaning out the hose, but that didn’t really make a difference.  I also bought a little stick vac which is worthless. I’ve heard the Dysons are great but they cost a ton, so I’m reluctant to buy one without knowing if it really works how it says it does. Anyone have any ideas?
Our clothes washer broke. They agitatot wasn’t, umm, agitating. We had a repair guy come out to look at it. He took the whole agitator apart to fix it and what I saw inside was toataly gross. I should have guessed from the musty smell on my clothes after I was them that there was somthing wrong. I’ve tried running loads of bleach to get it clean, but it never worked. Well the shaft of the agitator was filled with mildewy slime. I quickly washed them out as best I could and sprayed them with bleach before he put it allback together. Hopefull the clothes will smell a little better now. Ewww.
I got my washer fixed, and while the repair guy was here, I had him look at my dryer too. It is a terrible dryer often taking 2-3 cycles to get a load dry. He opened up the back and took out all the built up lint on the inside of the dryer. Its amazing how much lint is not caught in the lint trap. It runs a lot better now only taking 1 cycle to dry the clothes (1 and a half for towels). I feel like I’m really saving money and energy now.
